The Philippines Society for the Surgery for Trauma held its annual conference CODE Trauma on 10 and 11th Jun. PSST President Prof Maria Maria Lourdes Gutierrez, Vice President Prof Aireen Madrid, who is also part of the ACT Exco, ran a packed 2 day seminar followed by a newly reintroduced DSTC course.

An ACT Session discussing trauma systems in Singapore by A/Prof Raj Menon, Japan by Prof Koji Morishita and Canada by Prof Tarek Razak was well received as was a session discussion on fellowship opportunities by A/Prof Teo Li Tserng from Singapore.

It was heartening to see the progress made in Trauma care by the committed and inspiring trauma community of the Philippines! ACT was also honoured by the presence of one of its founding members, the current Secretary for Health and the President of the World Health Assembly, Prof Ted Herbosa.
